Damien Jones began his exploration into the unknown when he took a pottery class after college, in 1990. He quickly found an access to some unique, beautiful expressions in working with slabs of clay – cutting out 2-D shapes then curving and connecting them to make 3-D forms. Over the next 15 years he developed a large vocabulary of forms, textures, patterns, and colors which he employed to create many sculptural vessels. After leaving a successful engineering career and travelling for over a year in Thailand and India, Damien returned in 2006 and gave himself over full-time to the artistic process. Through his water sculptures Damien can cultivate an experience of calm, centered, peacefulness. This experience begins as he shapes and molds the sculptures by hand from raw clay, drawing from the organic designs of mother nature herself. Each piece is a uniquely original design which aims to help relieve stress and anxiety with its naturally flowing and evolving lines and shapes. The feng-shui element of flowing water brings soothing and meditative movement into the static design, along with the energetic benefits of prosperity. The wide variety of custom forms, patterns, and colors can connect with and enhance the look of any setting. Damien’s pieces are created to flawlessly assimilate into any indoor or outdoor environment.
