Taylor Anton White’s art consistently defies categorization. He wryly explores the underbelly of human dilemmas, domesticity, and behaviors with unconventional materials and methods that marry both drawing and painting, the abstract and the figurative. The artist juxtaposes text, found objects, and cartoon-like images of houses, cars, people, and landscapes—often all within a single artwork. He utilizes a vast spectrum of media, ranging from spray paint, airbrush, and hand-sewn textiles to charcoal, oil stick, and acrylic. Characterized by freneticism and raw immediacy, his often text-strewn images deliver punch lines about our oddball human condition in playful ways. "My work gives form to fleeting memories and the suppressed mania crawling beneath the carpet of the Western home. These images recount crisis and triumph, momentum and confinement, lust and lassitude. Finding stillness within the process of painting and drawing, I return to my childhood freezer filled with popsicles and secret passageways." Recent solo exhibitions include The Hole (2024); Pulpo Gallery in Murnau, Germany (2024, 2022); G Gallery in Seoul, South Korea (2023); L21 in Spain (2024); Roberts Projects in Los Angeles, CA (2021) and Marquee Projects in Bellport, NY (2023, 2021). He has been featured in group exhibitions at High Noon Gallery in New York, NY (2022); Galeria Fan Reus in Mallorca, Spain (2021); Everyday Gallery in Antwerp, Belgium (2021); and Newchild Gallery in Antwerp, Belgium (2021), among others. He has also exhibited at art fairs such as Aspen Art Fair (2024), Intersect Aspen (2023), Untitled Art, Miami (2024, 2022), and The Armory Show, NYC (2021-2022). You can read about Taylor in print and digital publications such as Artnet.com, Whitehot Magazine, New American Paintings, Art & Objects, Burnaway Magazine. He was awarded the Cycamore Artist Residency, Brooklyn, NY, in 2018 the Espositivo 7B Residency, Madrid, Spain, in 2017 and was recently acquired by the Koo House Museum in South Korea
