Taylor Anton White’s art consistently defies categorization. He wryly explores the underbelly of human dilemmas, domesticity, and behaviors with unconventional materials and methods that marry both drawing and painting, the abstract and the figurative. The artist juxtaposes text, found objects, and cartoon-like images of houses, cars, people, and landscapes—often all within a single artwork. He utilizes a vast spectrum of media, ranging from spray paint, airbrush, and hand-sewn textiles to charcoal, oil stick, and acrylic. Characterized by freneticism and raw immediacy, his often text-strewn images deliver punch lines about our oddball human condition in playful ways. White has exhibited widely throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, with solo and group presentations in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Seoul, Taipei, Shanghai, Madrid, Mallorca, Murnau, Antwerp, Brussels, Berlin, London, Brisbane, Aspen, and beyond. Recent solo exhibitions include presentations with K Contemporary, The Hole in New York, Pulpo Gallery in Germany, G. Gallery in Seoul, L21 in Spain, Roberts Projects in Los Angeles, and Marquee Projects in Bellport, New York. His work has also been presented at major international art fairs including The Armory Show in New York, Untitled Art Miami, Felix Art Fair in Los Angeles, Aspen Art Fair, Taipei Dangdai, ARCO Madrid, Art Busan, KIAF Seoul, and Art021 Shanghai. White’s work has been featured in Artnet, Whitehot Magazine, New American Paintings, Art & Object, Burnaway Magazine, and other print and digital publications. He was awarded the Cycamore Artist Residency in Brooklyn in 2018 and the Espositivo 7B Residency in Madrid in 2017. His work has also recently been acquired by the Koo House Museum in South Korea.
