Isabelle Dayton captures the primacy and splendor of the here and now in her paintings. Her informal family portraits have been described as “...meditations upon the tender, human mystery of relationships...” And within her landscapes there is a “...sense that we are witnessing intimate, unplanned moments where nothing but life itself is happening.” She opens a wider optic to the visual world that re-establishes the belief that human beings are truly at home when they are in the natural world. Isabelle’s work has been shown in many solo and group exhibitions. Her paintings are in corporate collections throughout the United States and the Caribbean. Clients include MasterCard Corporation, Wilmington, Delaware; Disney Corporation, Orlando, Florida; Four Seasons Hotel, Nevis, U.S. Virgin Islands; Rhode Island Children’s Hospital, Providence, Rhode Island; Indian River Memorial Hospital, Vero Beach, Fl; Hospice House, Vero Beach, FL; and St. Mary’s Hospital (a Mayo Hospital), Rochester, Minnesota.Isabelle is represented in the archives of the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. Her work is also in many private collections, including those of distinguished clients from New York to Florida to St. Croix and from Illinois to Texas to Colorado, Great Britain, Sweden and Switzerland. One of her signature paintings, “Beautiful People,” appeared as the 1994 South Carolina Humanities Festival poster.
