Davis is interested in what lies in the obscure and in the visual periphery of the natural world. Davis works in oil, painting both en plein air and in the studio, often preferring large panels. Using dynamic brushstrokes and saturated colour, she captures the friction, texture, and temperature of where surfaces meet; challenging the eye to look deeper, to see beyond the obvious, and to see beauty in the mundane. Her work has a strong organic presence, indicative of the natural landscape she paints. Davis has been a professional artist for over 23 years. Primarily self-taught, she is an elected member of the Society of Canadian Artists, the Ontario Society of Artists, and a senior signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Davis' work has been featured in magazine, television, and is included in private and corporate collections around the world.
