Artist Bio: Hope Thweatt is an emerging artist residing in Auburn, Alabama. Upon graduating with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in 2021, the artist quickly realized how important art was to her daily life. Her current work focuses on empowering women in their normality after seeing and having felt the effects of societal beauty standards. In a world that tells you to hide who you are, the figures have a three-dimensional feel to show every aspect. Each piece intends on showing the strength a woman can hold as she defies societal demands and embraces herself as is. While these issues are part of her work presently, Hope also feels inspired to capture the moments within nature and people that go unnoticed on a day to day basis. The artist has displayed these bodies of work throughout the southeast and looks forward to continue developing her craft as she works for and apprentices under the well-known Alabama artist, Catie Radney.
