Born in the Bronx, Ariel began making art in childhood, when she was inspired by cartoons and by the television art instructor Bob Ross. She learned to draw from her older sister and went on to study Fine Arts at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She often depicts still life or landscape in her work and likes to play with color in her abstract pieces. Says Ariel, "I experiment with a wide variety of materials for different projects.”
