Judith was born in Binghamton, NY. As an artist she has enjoyed a career spanning thirty plus years and many different mediums. Her earliest influence was from her mother Dorothy Rutherford, who was one of the many artists selected to do clothing design for the nationally syndicated "Tillie the Toiler" paper doll series appearing in newspapers around the country throughout the 30s' and 40's. Judith has been successful in faux finishing, trompe l'oeil artwork, and murals in both private and commercial settings. Her figurative work is tonal, ethereal, and created in response to her love of the human figure. She now lives and works in Jacksonville, Florida, however, she studied art and design while in college in upstate New York. Judith won the annual art show at Broome Community College two years running, and received several other awards for her art work while studying there. She studied under James Bohary and David Shapiro while taking advanced painting classes at Binghamton University. While living in Jacksonville, I has been in several group art shows, most notably in 2007 at Florida State College in Jacksonville with her former professor from Binghamton University, James Bohary.
