ARTIST BIOGRAPHY Ken Van Rees is a landscape painter with the Men Who Paint plein air group from Saskatoon and is looking forward to finally painting the east coast of Canada. He recently retired from the Soil Science Dept at the University of Saskatchewan and is intrigued by the various intersections of merging the arts and sciences in his work. Painting allows him to connect with the natural environment from a different perspective than his science endeavors and he has also been experimenting with using natural materials from soil and burnt forests to create his landscape works.
