Valerie Syposz, born Ottawa, Canada, is an artist and printmaker. She obtained a BFA from Concordia University in 2008. In 2010, she was selected as a Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholar and moved to Tokyo. She received an MFA in printmaking from Tokyo University of the Arts, focusing on ball grain plate lithography. Syposz continues to utilize printmaking in its many forms as her means of expression, with an emphasis on hand printed techniques. She has continued to hone her printmaking and creation skills, participating in artist in residence programs in Norway, Canada, China and Sweden. Syposz has held solo exhibition in Canada, Japan, Australia, Norway and Korea and has been included in numerous group exhibitions around the world.
