Lorena Kloosterboer is an extraordinarily talented painter from Antwerp, Belgium. She creates contemporary and hyperrealist still lifes, focusing on glass and ceramic pieces, sometimes accompanied by flora and fauna. Kloosterboer seeks to capture the fascinating interactions between colors, light, shadows, textures and reflections and unite them in visual poetry. Her aim is to convey her thoughts about life through symbolic content in her paintings. This symbolism representing higher ideals such as serentiy, purity, wisdom, awareness, empathy and compassion may not be immediately obvious to the viewer, yet Klootserboer believes these positive messages will somehow reach the consciousness of those open to receiving them. Her paintings marry breathtaking technical dexterity with imaginative concepts and refined sensitivity. Lorena Kloosterboer studied at The Art Academy Beato Angélico in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but considers herself self-taught. She has been influenced by the great painters Maxfield Parrish, Rachel Ruysch, Lawrence Alma-Tadema, Johannes Vermeer, Alphonse Mucha and Hans Holbein the Younger. During her thirty plus year career, Kloosterboer's artwork has won numerous awards. She has participated in more than 15 gallery and museum exhibitions in Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Japan, The Netherlands, Spain, Taiwan, The United Kingdom and The United States. Five of her pieces enjoy permanent installation in Wassenaar, The Netherlands. Lorena Kloosterboer's breathtaking paintings, sometimes small in size, are like jewels. They are widely collected in many countries, including those in Europe and in the US.
