Sal Cosenza is an artist, design professor, and author, whose paintings depict anthropomorphic characterizations of famous buildings and other iconography. As the creator of over 180 paintings, Sal’s work often focuses on urban and New York-related subjects. His paintings are largely Surrealist, objective, and characterized by their intricate detailing and symbolism. Common themes explored in his work include love, satire, domestic life, architecture, global events, utopian ideals, dystopian imagery, film noir, and spirituality. In addition to painting, he teaches Interior Design and Interior Architecture courses at ASU, co-hosts the Abstract Essay podcast, and he is the author of the genre-blending novel, Manhattan: The Rising War.
