BiographyLittle did Esteban Flores Barron understand at the age of ten about his passion and love for art until his arrival to the United States in the fall of 1996 when all of Esteban’s family migrated from his home state Guanajuato, Mexico. Soon after his arrival to Scottsdale, Arizona he started middle school at the Arcadia Neighborhood Learning Center where he took his first art classes. Ms. Chambers his middle school teacher notice, recognize and encourage his talent; similarly, once he moved to Coronado High School, his four term art teacher, Ms. Blum did the same. These years were key for his development and future in the art world, at this stage he was recognized and won several art competitions. At the beginning of his senior year (2003), Esteban was introduced by Ms. Janet Blum to Kraig Foot, founder and owner of the Art One Gallery, Inc. and since then, he was given the opportunity to showcase and sell his artwork. During these years he focused his art style mainly in painting colorful houses and towns from his native country of birth. Later on, in 2009, he applied and was accepted to pursue a bachelor’s degree in architecture at Arizona State University. During these years the architecture studies opened his mind to a whole different world. Design concepts, lines, shapes and colors were put together to come up with building designs. The development and execution of architectural building programs were well impregnated in Esteban’s mind. These years were tough and vastly demanding but they were also setting up the stage for an important development and growth as an artist. After graduation in 2012, he worked in several architectural firms in Arizona and while working in the development of architectural plans, Barron began to notice the intricate and complex floor plans that interlocked and superimposed one another and created some highly interesting designs. At this point, Esteban transferred those ideas into a canvases and this was the beginning of a new painting style directly inspired and influenced by the architectural world. His paintings showcase the skylines of some major cities like New York and Tokyo, other skylines or buildings are from an imaginary city, some have a more realistic representation and others a completely abstract one. Other designs include the different parties that a massive building could include and are drawn in lines and shapes which are later colored in different tones. Other paintings include topographic lines viewed from above and some are the layout of a city that include its different regulating city zoning codes. Esteban believes in the power of a line, a line defines everything and is the main ingredient for a creation in almost every aspect of his paintings; furthermore, a line can be seen in almost all of his paintings. This line can be included embedded in the design concept of a design or used literally as a signature in a bottom corner of a painting. Barron wants to continue growing in the art world as a professional artist and he is highly compromised and motivated to constantly explore with new materials and mediums to further develop and enrich his style. Most importantly, the line contains the key to an infinite design possibilities that have been and will be constantly exploited and explored in all of Esteban’s paintings.
