Tom Stephenson was born in Phoenix and has lived in Arizona most of his life. Painting professionally for over 44 years he knows there is a lot more to come. Receiving a fellowship in 1996 from the NEA helped further his career with solo and group shows over many years and places. Other then painting on canvas he is innovating by painting on car bumpers, plexi glass, mirrored domes and velvet. Preferring to paint in a photo realistic style, he will sometimes dabble in abstracts. Tom's pieces portray people and their thoughts from unique perspectives: life, love, beauty and death are all common themes throughout his paintings.
