Griffith Art Gallery is pleased to represent this talented artist from South Korea. Mr. Park creates using oil as his medium on canvas. He employs a knife to lay his paint in heavy impasto strokes. Park paints ponds, streams and lakes in intamate close up settings. You will find yourself drawn into the sceen where you are inclined to mentally stroll through the painting, your eye resting in shadows while light shimmers off water and leaves define the surface through translucent depth. You will notice rocky shoals with stones eminating from the edges of the streams and pools of water with moss and subtile paths inviting the viewer to venture up and into the implied edge of the composition.
