Follow her journey online @CourtenayCreates or www.courtenaycreates.com I combine fabric, paper, acrylic ink, acrylic paint, and drawing materials such as charcoal, graphite, oil sticks, and conte crayons into abstracted compositions on canvas or paper. Working in layers between the foreground and background, I produce shapes and marks that correspond to the themes within each piece.I typically use symbolism to discuss Biblical themes such as redemption, hope, depravity, salvation, and peace. I meld subject matter, color, and artifacts to invite viewers to engage with moments of simple beauty, shared experiences, and the One who made it all. I strive to make faith visible through my artwork.
