Brett Weaver, a true modern day Renaissance man, holds a degree in Engineering from Tennessee Tech, yet approaches art with graceful application of a paintbrush, reminiscent of Monet. Weaver studied painting for a brief period in college, but he considers himself self-taught. In 2002, Weaver left his engineering career, found an inexpensive studio space in the old Chattanooga Bank Building to begin painting full time at age twenty-nine. As Brett says, this leap was "to chase a dream". Being unchained from one style of painting allows Weaver the freedom to explore in new and exciting ways. The depth of his talent is apparent through the diversity in his work ranging from traditional landscapes to contemporary abstracts, as well as figurative and his now famous cityscapes. His primary mission as an artist is to produce works that speak to the soul, reaching beyond the subject matter and anchoring the viewer to a moment captured by his refined brushstrokes. When Weaver is not in his studio, he can be found spending time with his family, his wife Tianna is his ultimate cheerleader, and their twins keep him on his toes. Brett, Abbott & Emeline can usually be spotted walking to and from school.
