Sachi Rome (American, b.1977) is a painter and muralist whose work delves into history, memory, and the present-day manifestations of past lives. She uses worldmaking as a point of departure in her fantastical portraits that are rendered in partial abstraction, creating, as she describes, “protected and safe spaces, free from the constructed world that alludes to blackbodies as a threat, and thus unworthy of peaceful existence."
