What inspires, or as described by the artist herself, ‘obsesses,’ Danielle Hatherley to paint is that energy-filled moment in nature where light and dark meet, are unified, and find peace. Sunsets, backlit forests and luminous landscapes have become both her muse and forte. Each extraordinarily luminous painting begins, and ends, with those captured points of light. Born in Australia, Danielle grew up trying to capture the spectacular light of Sydney’s harbor and beaches. Introduced to en plein air abstracted impressionist painting by renowned Australian artist Ted Blackall (who became her lifelong mentor), Hatherley knew immediately that was her calling. Danielle’s work is collected globally; she and her husband currently reside in Las Vegas, NV.
