I am Nivedita Ghosh, Nivs for the last 20+ odd years since I landed on these shores of Cayman. I was born in Mumbai, India. Mumbai’s culture raised me to appreciate the potpourri of traditional festivals, food, music, theatre and the relentless energy of mankind. India is a land of celebrations, and each such celebration was underlined by amazing larger-than-life art works in various forms – mostly depicting mythology. I grew up surrounded by such rich and vibrant culture where art becomes part of life without much efforts. My personal journey started in Cayman Islands, with the birth of my first born. I was amazed at everything about a new life and wanted to capture my thoughts and feelings for him in art form. It became even more acute with the second baby in my life. They are my true inspiration, from my first acrylic painting ‘Stormy Nights’ to my last mixed media adventure – ‘Medusa’ it has been a terrific journey. A new art took shape when I was happy or peaceful or just watching the endless ocean from my office window.
