Rosalyn Roembke (b. 1935, Indianapolis, IN), currently residing in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is known for her realistic floral and still life paintings. She graduated from the University of Michigan in 1957 with a B.A. in Philosophy, emphasizing aesthetics. Her training in painting included both formal coursework and personal mentorship from her late husband, renowned painter Wilson Hurley, with whom she shared nearly 40 years of marriage. Since 2006, Roembke has worked almost exclusively with painting knives, creating still life compositions that feature carefully selected objects arranged in either casual or formal groupings. Her work is distinguished by its meticulous realism and thoughtful symbolism, often highlighting relationships between objects. Roembke's paintings have been represented in galleries in Santa Fe and Oklahoma City. She has exhibited regularly in the Albuquerque Museum Miniatures & More Show since 1992 and has participated in numerous regional and national juried exhibitions.
