Sheree Napanangka Anderson is the granddaughter of Biddy Nungarrayi Long/Jurrah who is a long-standing artist in Lajamanu, a small town in the Northern Territory of Australia. Sheree paints when she has a spare moment between working full time and raising her 4 sons. She is a woman who walks in two worlds, the contemporary and the traditional. Artists in her region aim preserve and pass on the cultural significance of Warlpiri - the culture of the people of Lajamanu - which encompasses not only art, but includes language, social structure, law and country.
