Alberoi Bazile, the younger cousin of the famous Haitian painter Castera Bazile, was born in Jacmel, Haiti, in 1920 and died in 2005. He started painting in 1951. He began a career in the army in 1942, and after being transferred to the Port-au-Prince Police Department in 1951, he met Dewitt Peters of the Centre d'Art. In 1963, he became a full-time painter.
