Narelle Carter is an Australian photographer born in 1966 who began her journey as a News Photographer on location capturing, developing and printing varied assignments on 35mm film from 1984 to 1996. Her current works are now a combination of Digital and Analogue film incorporating a very diverse and emotive body of works. From Rock Stars, to dreamy ocean vistas, to Street style documentary. Her Landscape photography focuses on discovering abstract expressions of beauty in the world with in-camera techniques to create a perspective that feels like a poem within a photograph. Her images capture the difference between reality and how she sees the world. Often, incorporating a poem or story in tandem, with the image to convey the emotion she felt while creating the image. #shestillshootsfilm yes she does, and is a little bit obsessed with making multiple exposures on film and documenting recent scenes which evoke a feeling of vintage memories. She also has an extensive portfolio of Rock Music legends performing in the 1980’s and 1990’s Narelle’s love of street style photography stems from her early days as a Press photographer catching people in everyday moments revealing interesting moments. She does not like to be defined by any one genre but embraces them all.
