In the words of the artist: "I build my paintings up through improvisational processes and uncontrolled instinctual color applications. Interesting areas appear, and are then either disrupted, erased or enticed into compositions of ambiguous shapes. Arranging and rearranging until all the components work. I find joy in the ambiguous shapes that emerge and their humorous dialogues. Shapes that seem strange but are easily recognizable by our brain, seemingly familiar but not known as everyday objects rather known on a deeper level in the interior perhaps because they mimic natural organic or body structures. It is a cycle of color over shape, painting and painting until the right thing happens."
