Denise Dambrackas, born in Cherry Hill, NJ but raised in Miami, FL, has been a dedicated Denver resident since 1998. Graduating Cum Laude from Florida State University with a Bachelors of Fine Art in 1995, she expanded her education at the Maryland Institute College of Art and Miami Dade Community College. Denise's passion for realism was further enriched through atelier training with artists like Anthony Ryder and Michelle Tully. Her evocative series "Future Feminine" is crafted in oil paint, aiming to inspire young women with images that boldly combat societal doubts. Though she begins some of her works using acrylic paint for texture and typography, Denise's finely detailed imagery truly shines in oil. The creative process for her starts with an inspiration, followed by color studies and sometimes preliminary drawings. Ultimately, her works depict a blend of memory, mood, and the richness of her surroundings. Beyond her formal education, Denise credits her husband, their shared art community, and seasoned artists as significant influences. Notably, Denise won "Best of Show" at the "Old Myths New Stories National, Juried Group Show" in 2020 and was named a "Finalist" in the Portrait Society Member Competition three times. Currently, she continues her "Future Feminine" series with aspirations of evolving her technique, teaching, and creating impactful art desired by enthusiasts and institutions alike.
