Jim Vilona’s studio and home are situated on five magnificent pastoral acres in Berthoud Co. It is in this state of the art fourteen thousand square foot studio that Vilona creates his one-of-a-kind sculptures, lighting and art furniture. Vilona’s extensive background in gemology, lapidary and jewelry making, ultimately lead to working with fossils, minerals, and crystals. Utilizing traditional forging processes, Vilona’s current work incorporates these amazing historical specimens into exceptional and unique collections of art furniture and lighting. In the artist’s own words, “My passion lies in blending contemporary, organic & abstract forms into art. I enjoy creating tension using materials in their raw configurations as a catalyst to create both positive and negative spaces.” Vilona is working on an international collaboration with Louis Vuitton, Ltd. The Louis Vuitton corporation has commissioned him to create several exclusive editions of art furniture to be sold in their stores worldwide.
