Originally from the Great Lakes Region, McCreery L. Jordan has called Santa Fe her home since 1993. A self-taught artist, who credits the special quality of light and the rich culture and diversity of Santa Fe with providing her with a continual flow of inspiration. As a highly accomplished painter and sculptress, Jordan has mastered the multiple modalities of Realism, Impressionism, and Abstract painting. As seven years old, Jordan would take the bus by herself to the prestigious Toledo Museum of Art to attend art classes. Over the years, the artist taught classes there. Today her work is in the museum’s permanent collection. Jordan’s journey as an artist continues to be a full and joyful exploration of technique and subject matter. The artist's ability to move deftly between two-dimensional and three-dimensional work is a testimony to her mastery of these mediums.
