Karla Hackman’s designs work with uniquely feminine qualities, capturing both ferocity and softness. Hackman achieves this through her use of geometric designs as well as natural textures and patterns. Hackman believes in creating pieces that are as unique as the person who wears them. Through the ancient technique of Kombu, she creates pieces that contain gold as well as sterling silver. It is the artist’s belief that mixed metals compliment each other as well as showcase the different qualities of the gemstones in her works. Hackman is inspired by contemporary architecture as well as memories of her childhood garden, bringing up both nostalgia and an appreciation for modern designs. Hackman’s collectors are found across the country in: Chicago, Oklahoma City, Dallas, Denver, Santa Fe, New York and more. Karla has participated in a variety of art festivals across the Southwest such as the prestigious Crested Butte Art Festival in CO, Festival of the Arts and Paseo Arts Festival in OKC, the Rio Grande Balloon Fiesta Arts and Crafts Festival, and Waterfront Scottsdale and many others.
