Tim’s work is rooted in realism, informed by a deep study of the old masters and over two decades of painting outdoors. His diverse subject matter and techniques reflect both a prolific painting practice and an insatiable pursuit of the next big idea.Driven by observation and exploration, Tim’s paintings reveal a sensitivity to light, place, and form. His work has been featured in numerous magazine articles, solo exhibitions, and invitational events across the United States. He has received top awards in national competitions for both studio and plein air painting. My earliest artistic influences came from the Hudson River School of the mid-1800s. Over time, I was drawn to the quieter voice of George Inness, who bridged the dramatic realism of the Hudson River School with the subtleties of Tonalism—America’s answer to the Barbizon movement. This more introspective approach favors atmosphere over contrast, mood over detail. It is, as I often say, "the whisper in the quiet."
