Born in Alice Springs in 1981, Esther was raised in Christmas Creek near Fitzroy Crossing and later in Kintore. Her artistic journey began at Yirara College in Alice Springs, where she received education in both Pintupi and English, alongside art instruction. Returning to Kintore in 1999, Esther embarked on her painting career, benefiting from a substantial apprenticeship under Naata and Nancy Ross Nungurrayi. Esther also participated in cultural preservation initiatives, including translating Pintupi songs into English. While initially engaged in collaborative community projects, Esther started painting independently in 2009. Since then, she has made remarkable strides in developing her unique style and methodology, particularly in narrating stories related to the significant women's site of Marrapinti.
