Brenda Napaltjarri is a Pintupi artist from the Kintore community, west of Alice Springs. She often paints stories that relate to her country and the rockhole site of Mitukatjirri, south-east of Kintore, which is the her father's country. Napaltjarri began painting with the Papunya Tula artist collective in 2002. The art center, formed in 1972 in Papunya, Northern Territory, is where Australia’s Western Desert art movement was born and is owned and operated by Aboriginal people.
