Charlotte E.[Bodwell] Morgan began her art studies at the San Francisco School of Design under Mathews, Joullin and Carlsen, and privately with Armin Hansen, L.P. Latimer and Oscar Kunath. She later earned an M.A. degree at UC Berkeley (1928) where she was a pupil of Perham Nahl. After marrying Ross Morgan, she settled on the Monterey Peninsula. Maintaining a studio in Carmel, she and her sister-in-law, Mary DeNeale Morgan, were involved in the village's early art activity which included teaching and exhibiting with the Carmel Arts and Crafts Club and the Carmel Art Association. She was a member of the CAA from its incorporation in 1927 until her death in 1947.
