Burton Boundey was born in Wisconsin and studied at the Smith Art School in Chicago and the Chicago Art Institute. Later in New York he had further training under Robert Henri and George Bellows. Working in both watercolor and oil he is known for his landscapes and marine paintings. He was president of the Carmel Art Association in 1932 and helped with the purchase of the property on Dolores Street which the CAA owns to this day.
