Rosie Corby Nampitjinpa is from Kintore in the Northern Territory, west of Alice Springs. She is the daughter of the renowned artist Lindsay Corby and paints at the Papunya Tula artist collective. The art center, formed in 1972 in Papunya, Northern Territory, is where Australia’s Western Desert art movement was born, and is owned and operated by Aboriginal people. Rosie's Dreaming was passed down to her from her artist father, as well as the women in her community, who inspired her to develop her own unique representations of her Country. Her work is recognized by her contemporary representations of her Country, using structured dot work to create beautifully contrasting, linear designs.
