Maggie Robertson currently practices art in her studio in St.Louis, MO. After graduating from the School of Art Institute in Chicago, her work has moved through many different mediums from photography and printmaking, to textile design, ceramics and painting. Her work is in many collections across the globe. She has always been inspired by the natural world and her interest in animals' inner lives and the way they interact with each other and us. Her recent painting series of blue horses has an entwined equine history with man. She contends, we likely have a hardwired attraction to them. The quote, “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man” - Sir John Lubbock/ Sir Winston S. Churchill comes to mind. And feels particularly relevant. The image of the horse is powerful and laden with feeling and meaning to most. Maggie is captivated by the way horses look and move and her blue horses are the expression of this.
