Richard Clark is a self-taught artist and chooses watercolor as his preferred medium. He’s worked as an illustrator for Lockheed Georgia, and also a graphic artist for the Atlanta Regional Commission and Bellsouth Telecommunications Clark has received numerous cash and purchase awards through juried state, regional and national competitions. He recently won the top honor in the National Watercolor Society’s 92nd Annual Juried Exhibition. The “National Watercolor Society Purchase Award with Silver Star” purchased the painting for their permanent collection. The painting they purchased, “Antigua, Street Limbo” was on a 12 month tour around the United States.He is featured in an article in Watercolor Artist and is awarded “The Best of the Best” Watermedia paintings of the year. In 2015, Clark won “Best in Show from the National Arts Program. He also won First and Second place at the Atlanta Arts Center Juried Shows, and exhibited a trio at the Zucot Gallery.He was accepted in the Art in the Atrium 23rd Annual Exhibition in Morristown, New Jersey. In 2016, Clark entered DFAA Sights & Insights Southeast Juried Show, and won 3rd place. At the New Power Generation 2016 Hampton Museum National Juried Exhibition at Hampton University, Clark won the Dr. Samella S. Lewis Painting Award.His painting, “Washerwomen” was selected as part of the “Art of Georgia II, Metro Atlanta exhibit, which will be showing in the Capital through October. He is currently represented by The Zucot Gallery.He is a master Signature Member of the National Watercolor Society, and a Signature Member of the Georgia Watercolor Society. And is also a member of the South Cobb Arts Alliance, Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville, Atlanta Arts Center, AAFTA, and NAAH BCU. His paintings are in many private collections and permanent collections of the National Watercolor Society, Alabama State University and the Cultural Arts Council of Douglasville.
