Haitian female painter Edith Hollant was born in Port-au-Prince on November 29, 1938. After school at Sainte-Rose de Lima (Haiti) and College St. Michael in Burlington, Vermont, she began to paint in 1953. Her first sale was to the Centre d'Art. Luce Turnier helped her with the drawing, and Pierre Paillere with the background. She has been exhibited in Haiti and has painted only occasionally since 1971.
