Martin Ferreyra was born in the Córdoba, Argentina - psychologist by training, and mainly self-taught when it comes to the arts. In recent years he has participated in festivals, exhibitions and residences in Amsterdam, Spain, Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, Canada and the USA. In his work he explores various techniques and materials such as ceramics, paint, textile, video, and performance. Creating a world of his own within his visual imagination where he investigates concepts around identity, ritual, and myth. Latent in the collective unconscious of our culture. He currently resides in Etla, Oaxaca, his personal workshop dedicated to exploring new materials and traditional techniques working in the present without overlooking the cultural baggage of the past. His most recent project is La Cochera, an exhibition space for himself and local multidisciplinary artists. Anchored in the historic center of Oaxaca, with the purpose of being a platform for the artistic expression and diversity of disciplines.
