Jarrod Riggs was born in Auckland, New Zealand and later moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2009. Spending his formative years portraying Queensland's coastal landscape his focus later shifted towards Southern California for its similarities in light and colour whilst discovering its tracts of mid-century architecture and pop iconography, themes that now underpin his works today. With his studio set up on the Sunshine Coast, Riggs paintings have an emphasis on rendering the Southern Californian lifestyle with a focus on modernist architecture and the subtle beauty of familiar environments.Jarrod Riggs paintings have been exhibited in both solo and group shows, and his work is held in private collections worldwide.
