Stefan Geissbühler began his creative career as a chef in his native Switzerland. His culinary career abruptly ended when he shattered an ankle and could no longer stand the requisite long hours of a chef. Serendipitously, this led to his path pursuing fine art, his true passion. A move to Colorado and four years of healing honed his artistic voice, landing on the unique style he refers to as ‘New Century Modern.’ Combining a mid-century aesthetic with abstract expressionism, his paintings sing visually, imbuing even static subject matter with human qualities and personality. His vibrant color palette, unique shapes, expressive lines, and unusual technique employing spackle knives and brayers (rubber rollers historically used in printing) allow Stefan to reach his ultimate goals of instilling joy and lifting the spirits of each viewer.
