María Esther Marrella (Teté Marella) was born and trained in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1943. In 1973, she settled in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, where she continued her studies. With educational experience in various fields, most notably in art activism, she traveled to the Dominican Republic in 1973, taking on multiple roles in publicity and media and organizing the first exhibition, a caricature of the noble people of Casa de Teatro, in 1974. During this period, her colors and watercolors reflected the strong conceptual and structural elements typical of her drawings, especially those of poetic women, recorders, and ensueño, which evolved into a personal universe.
