Kathleen and her husband Tim relocated to the Charleston area in the 2016 after decades of vacationing here. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Hope College and has always had a deep connection to the arts. "My love of glass started years ago while visiting Piccolo Spoleto, and a dichroic glass pendant caught my eye, and the rest is history. During my learning process, I have learned glass will do what it wants to do. It can change colors and shape as it undergoes the intense heat of the kiln. It's like life, there are surprises, and you never know how it will turn out. As I open the kiln, sometimes it is beautiful and other times, not so much it takes you in a new direction and it becomes beautiful after being reworked and with a new firing."
