Camy Rocher, the renowned Haitian painter, was born in Baraderes on July 5, 1956. He completed his primary education in Port-au-Prince and, in 1970, began his painting journey under the mentorship of Calixte Henry. In 1978, he became a member of the Art Center, where his extraordinary talent started to flourish. Tragically, he drowned on April 26, 1981, just as his artistic genius was beginning to gain recognition. His work remains a testament to his unique and rare vision, solidifying his place in the art world. (Source: Haiti et Ses Peintres de 1804 à 1980-Souffrances & Espoirs d'Un Peuple, 1989, pp. 401) Camy Rocher's art is scarce to find in the marketplace.
