Harry Whitver relocated with his family to Nashville from Iowa in 1946. He graduated from Hillsboro High School and Peabody College before serving with the Navy in Vietnam. After his tour, he attended Art Center School in Los Angeles. Upon returning to Nashville, he worked with Bob Hitt at Illustration Design Group before creating his own studio specializing in technical illustration. Over the years, he provided illustration services for a clientele that included Smithsonian Air & Space Magazine, Mini Cooper, Bridgestone, Nike, Hanley Wood Publications, Carrier Corp. and others. After retiring from commercial illustration, he returned to his lifelong passion for painting, working in oils and markers on canvas, using skills and insight developed over four decades.
