Beth Sautter is a Tualatin area contemporary realist painter, who finds inspiration and beauty in a composition consisting of chickadees and heirloom tomatoes, each item exquisitely painted. Sautter displays tremendous technical proficiency using a glazing method to give her work the illusion of luminosity and depth. Beth's humorous and detailed paintings surface from a lively imagination. Sautter holds a BFA in studio art from University of Texas, and after many years in LA, moved to Lake Oswego, then Tualatin, OR where she is flourishing in the clean air and serene surroundings. Beth started her painting career by showing her work in the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts twenty years ago and has won several awards including the Juror's Choice Award in 2012. She is the only painter in Oregon to be featured twice in the 2008 and 2012 Biennial for Contemporary American Realism in the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her works have been shown in the Portland Art Museum Rental Sales Gallery, Coos Art Museum, Fort Wayne Museum of Art, Oswego Lake Gallery, Beard’s Framing, and is in the private collection of many wonderfully discerning patrons. Her prints are collected across America and as far away as Australia, England, and Singapore. Sautter's work is highly collected by the locals, was a favorite at Oswego Lake Gallery and she is winning accolades across the United States for her realistic paintings. She has recently turned her attention to portraiture, creating custom acrylic paintings of creatures, whether human, canine, feline, equine, or imaginary. She welcomes commissions because she loves to collaborate with clients to create a work of art that serves to tell the story of their lives.
