Peter Shurtz holds a BA in painting and drawing from USF. For many years he served as an instructor of Etching, Life Drawing, and Portfolio Presentation at the Orlando Museum of Art, and for over two decades he operated a graphic design studio creating numerous festival posters, commissioned artwork, and architectural graphics. He was also an independent designer hired by Walt Disney Design and Engineering to aid in the design and working drawings for an Epcot exhibit featuring early touchscreen technology that was built and deployed in the Orlando, Paris and Tokyo parks. Peter’s work can be found in numerous private collections. Artist StatementLocal observations including cloud/water/shoreline features discovered during my fishing and birding trips have been and are the focus for the continued creation of my art. Those observations that seem to hint at unseen or hidden meanings and are deserving of further exploration and reflection are the motivation for my paintings, prints and drawings.
