JuanCarlos rLora is a conceptual painter, sculptor and storyteller. Almost all of his works communicate surreal narratives as well as philosophical and scientific theories. He tells stories and sometimes those stories require different styles of art, thus his work varies from one series to the next, but all intertwine and connect into a cohesive narrative, much like chapters in a book. These "chapters" are underlined by a common theme, to bring awareness and show ways to save our home, planet Earth. JuanCarlos has visually written a concept art story called 'Flor' which spanned over 15 years, encompassing various painting and sculpture series. His collectors are intrigued and drawn to his work, so much so, that they often acquire a piece or two from each of the series, to then build the entire visual conceptual story in their homes. His ability to use various styles and techniques to convey meaningful narratives sets him apart as a visionary conceptual painter and sculptor. JuanCarlos also donates a huge percentage from his proceeds to an animal rescue mission, Art To Save Lives, ran by his represented gallery. "I am proud to be a part of an organization that saves animals and I am happy to say we donate a large portion of our art sales to fund our beloved shelter!" “I generally approach art as if conducting an experiment. I like having no parameters when it comes to creating....
I am constantly navigating the Cosmos of imagination.” ~JuanCarlos rLora Born in 1978, he was mostly raised in New York and split his time between NY, Miami and Santo Domingo.
JuanCarlos' passion for art began at a very young age, starting art lessons at a tender age of three. As he progressed in his artistic journey, he received guidance from influential figures in the art world, such as Dominican Master Painter Candido Bido and Turkish Painter Aquiles Azar. His professional art career began in 2010 with MoMA P.S.1 programming. Prior to that, he mainly focused on studio shows and various projects in New York for approximately five years. During this time, he and his manager started an animal rescue initiative using the funds from his art sales to support the cause. In 2016, he moved to South Florida to continue his work in
helping animals and expending his brand. His first Miami exhibit was at the Aqua Miami Beach Art Fair that same year. The following year, he gained recognition as a top-selling solo artist at Spectrum/RedDot Art Fairs and became known for introducing the innovative #AbstractPhotoReality concept, which combines realism with abstraction in the skies,
representing pollution, created by the artist in 2015 and debuting at the same fair. Starting in 2018, the city of Miami (Downtown) granted him the use of a section of the Brickell River Walk Trail Park for a yearly Solo Sculpture Exhibition held during Miami Art Week. Besides frequent shows at ArtToSaveLives Contemporary and other galleries, he regularly hosts studio
visits as well as works on various projects. Currently, JuanCarlos divides his time between New York and Miami, where he continues to
create and showcase his art, while helping animals in need. To learn more, visit:
