Judith Guild, based in Bristol, RI, is a coastal landscape painter working in oil and acrylic. Having worked for 30+ years as a videographer for the ABC show Chronicle in Boston, she traveled and viewed the world through a camera lens. Eventually the transition was made to putting paint on canvas. Her work is influenced by the majestic beauty of life along the coast, and its impressionistic style features loose brushwork and a constant feel of motion. Judith paints with a palette of delicate contrasts, creating a light-filled and atmospheric mood of tranquility, while capturing the excitement of coastal life and the daily drama of skies meeting the sea. Her work has been exhibited in local museums and galleries across New England, including Bristol, Little Compton, and Newport, RI.
