Travis K. Schwab focuses on ideas of past, present and future technology and examines our image-based and digital society through stunning photo-realist oil paintings. Schwab often looks to film and photo-media as a starting point to develop intense works of portraiture. The results are mysterious and provocative, as he addresses questions of identity and attitudes toward the future of humanity with insight, compassion, curiosity, and even dark humor. Travis K. Schwab's debut solo at Revision Space Gallery in 2015 was met with high praise, and was soon followed by a solo show at The Andy Warhol Museum. His cool, compelling paintings have been featured in a number of prominent publications, including New American Paintings and The New Republic. He was selected as one of “30 Under 30 Groundbreaking Artists” in Art Business News, and his artwork has appeared on the cover of UNSAID Literary Journal, as well as in PaperCity Magazine and as part of a “Must See Exhibit” in LOCAL Houston. His work can be found in a number of impressive collections in Miami, New York, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, Austin, Houston, and around the world.
