Peter Brown was born in 1967. The artist is a British impressionist painter popularly know as 'Pete The Street' from his practice of working on location in all weather. Peter Brown is best known for his depictions of street scenes and landscapes in and around Bath. He also paints scenes in London, Varanasi, Toronto, Canada as well as scenes in Barcelona, Paris and other cities. Peter Brown works directly from the subject, refusing to use a photographic reference. He graduated in Fine Arts from Manchester Polytechnic in 1990 and moved to Bath in 1993. He was elected a member of The New English Art Club in 1998 and became its President in 2018. Brown is also a member of The Royal Society of Portrait Painters.
